Bangkok, 26 December, 2020 – The Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) is delighted to announce the most recent example of tourism-related public-private sector co-operation with the launch of https://asq.ascendtravel.com platform for booking ASQ/ALQ hotels in Thailand.
The Digital Council of Thailand and ASQ-ALQ Thailand Club, together with leading Thai travel start-ups, Ascend Travel and Horganice teamed up to launch the online platform in Thai and English. It features more than 100 ASQ/ALQ hotels in Thailand, along with value-added services to meet all Thai Ministry of Public Health quarantine requirements.

Bangkok, 23 December, 2020 – The Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT), in collaboration with Beyond City Thailand, yesterday jointly launched the newly-developed smart map application under the “Thailand Smart Tourism Platform” to provide tourists with fast access to information for safe travel in the new normal.

Bangkok, 23 December, 2020 – Thailand’s tourism sector continues to safely and slowly reopen welcoming international travellers to the country with special tourist initiatives, while also remaining vigilant by enforcing strict public health guidelines to protect all during the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.
The Royal Thai Government recently lifted restrictions on the Special Tourist Visa (STV), which allows entry for tourists from any country or territory worldwide. Prior to this, STV holders were only allowed from low-risk countries. The STV offers visitors an initial 90-day visa with two extensions totalling 270 days. The STV was also extended to allow arrival by private yacht.
Thailand also offers a single-entry Tourist Visa (TR) that permits stays of up to 60 days

Bangkok, 18 December, 2020 – The Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) recently organised the Amazing Thailand Health and Wellness Virtual Trade Meet 2020 to keep the country’s award-winning health and wellness sector top-of-mind while travel to Thailand is restricted due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.
Running from 15 to 17 December, the three-day event was attended by 51 Thai suppliers and 86 buyers exceeding the target of 80 buyers. The sellers comprised 13 existing Thai suppliers and 38 new participants across seven product and service sectors from 12 provinces including 26 from Bangkok alone. The 86 buyers hailed from 27 countries, including 37 from Europe and the Middle East, 24 from East Asia (China and South Korea), 16 from ASEAN, South Asia, and Oceania, and nine from the Americas.
Bangkok, 17 December, 2020 – The Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) yesterday welcomed recent additions to the country’s growing stable of Michelin starred restaurants, with two new entrants and two given an additional star as part of the 28 total Michelin stars awarded.
These were included in the fourth edition of The Michelin Guide in Thailand, which features 299 dining establishments inclusive of 6 two-star, 22 one-star, 106 Bib Gourmand, and 165 Michelin Plate eateries. It covers restaurants in Bangkok, Chiang Mai, Phuket and Phang Nga, with TAT looking to expand coverage to more area in the country by 2021 under a five-year agreement with Michelin.
